The KENSA Pen & Pencil by APT Studio Kickstarter Announcement
The KENSA Pen and Pencil are a new set of premium machined writing instruments from the crew at APT Studios. This pen and pen are designed around the iconic ballpoint pen, but in materials that are meant to last a lifetime. Instead of throwaway cheap plastic, you’ll find materials like brass, stainless steel, and aluminum. The pen opens and closes via a secure twist mechanism, while the pencil features a click mechanism that also advances the lead.
The KENSA pens can fit a variety of refills. Apt is offering a Schmidt Megaline (similar to the Fisher Space Pen), an EasyFlow 9000M (super smooth and rich ballpoint), and a Ceramic Rollerball 888M (super smooth liquid ink rollerball). The pencil utilizes the tried-and-true Schmidt DSM 2007 lead extension mechanism that accepts 0.7mm leads. The KENSA pens come packaged in an aluminum tube with cork ends that makes for a unique presentation. Pledges start at $36 for a pen or pencil in aluminum and $44 for brass/stainless, and go up from there for additional pens and pencil sets. To learn more about the KENSA, hit the link below. Their Kickstarter page is full of all the nitty-gritty specs that we stationery nerds love to geek out over.
