I’ve dabbled with video content before, and to be completely honest I don’t know why I haven’t done more. Below is a video comparing the Makrolon version of the Lamy 2000 to the Stainless Steel version of the Lamy 2000. Please let me know what you think in the comments! I have a Makrolon Lamy 2000 which I purchased new within the last year, and it definitely has the same amount of play as your stainless steel version. Do you think I should contact Lamy support?

I don’t think it’s a real issue, but if it bothers you then that’s your call!
Being in the lucky position of owning 4 L2k’s – one stainless, 3 Makrolon – 2 have the slightly loose clip (both Makrolons) and 2 don’t. When you look at how the cap/clip/cap finial assembly you can see that the clip is actually supposed to potentially shift like that on its spring; the specimens that don’t have the ‘shifty’ clip are just a tad tighter – hard to avoid in a mass-produced item like that since 1-5/100 of a mm probably make all the difference in the world. (I’m perfectly fine like that – it’s still the world’s greatest large brand FP!
