Ironically, it’s a week before the shopping “holiday” here in the US that’s known as Black Friday. Because of Thanksgiving, the need to get some shopping done, and I happen to be moving that weekend, this feature is coming to you a bit early. Now onto the goods:
I really love my Lamy AL-Star. I have three of them, but the matte black limited edition is by far my favorite. Paired with a black nib, it completes the total stealth look. The second they became available, I picked one up. The Noodler’s Black is a great ink. It’s solid, dark, smooth, and water resistant. I completely understand why it’s the go-to black ink for so many people. Last, but not least, is the Maruman Mnemosyne notebook in B5. These notebooks got me through my last two years of school. I love the size, paper, and ruling. The textured black cover and the black wire binding make the notebook an ideal candidate for a Black Friday feature.

Oh how I wish that Lamy would come out with their 1.1 and 1.5 italic nibs in Black color.
I’ve got a matte black safari that’s dying to go stealth mode with an italic nib.. Of course it’s tummy is full with Kiwa-Guro..
Great combo!
They should really get on that, I love writing with the 1.1 stub myself.
