The official production model of the Karas Kustoms Ink came in a few weeks ago, and I haven’t been able to put it down. I swapped out the aluminum grip from the production model, and luckily the brass grip from my prototype still had the same threading and dimensions. The ink has been loaded up with Sailor Kiwa Guro Nano Black in a broad nib and it’s a pleasure to write with. The clip and cap threads are much more refined on the final version and the black anodized coating is evenly coated and smooth. Combine the smooth broad nib and my favorite black ink with the Seven Seas Tomoe Journal, and you’ve got pure writing bliss. I may have went overboard and worn one of my favorite fall colognes, “Encre Noire” (which means ‘black ink’ in French) during the quick shoot.

That journal is a beautiful looking thing. It’s all a bit masculine for my tastes, but I do love a good chunky journal.
