I really like Iroshizuku inks, but I’m not really a fan of pink (or magenta, or whatever this is). The ink goes down smooth and consistent, just like the rest of the Iroshizuku inks I’ve tried. The bottle they come in is really great looking on an ink shelf or in a desk. While this isn’t really my cup of tea (I prefer coffee anyway), it’s a nice ink. Sometimes purples and pinks can be a bit hairy in terms of legibility, but this ink is the right shade to where it can be easily read. If you’re into the color, I would definitely suggest checking it out. Iroshizuku inks are an absolute pleasure to look at, clean out, and write with.

it looks like magenta to me, but in a muted sort of way. its really not too bad, but then I like pinks and purples.
It’s by no means bad, just not my preferred writing color. It performs well, and cleaned out easily (which is always a plus for reds/pinks/purples). If you like the color, it’s worth checking out.
Thanks Ed, I haven’t tried any Iroshizuku inks yet. I have tried a Magenta and I like the bright cheery color of it but one fill was all I used of it. Just can’t seem to get motivated on where to use it.
Do yourself a favor and check them out! They’re pricey, but worth it (in my opinion). I’m the same, the color is nice, just not something I have an application for. I’ll take writing in Diamine Oxblood over pink/purple any day.

I think I heard somewhere that you were a fan of Iroshizuku…not sure where though.
This is my favorite ink for the Iroshizuku line. I had a sample from the ink drop and I loved it… then I forgot about it… then I rediscovered it again and had a blast using it all day long a few weeks ago. I don’t own a bottle yet but the next ink order I do I’m sure to pick this bottle up.

Berry nice Ed, but like you I don’t see myself writing purple prose, at least not literally. Pilot’s Iroshizuku inks attract me perhaps more than any other line because of their subdued natural colors. In this way they remind me very much of Derwent’s Drawing Pencils which are equally muted.
I’ve never heard of those pencils, I’ll have to check them out!
